I believe Ronaldo has dug himself a hole by often declaring
his wish to play for Real Madrid. Ok, this could be accepted
as a boyhood dream, which could indeed be realised later on
in his career, perhaps when his contract with Man United
was nearing its end, circa 2012! What Ronaldo probably did
not expect was that after such (maybe) naïve and untimely
comments, he would be ensnared into that very hole by his
agent (and the vision of many millions in commission) and
the obvious and uncouth poaching qualities of Real Madrid.
I fear the boy is in danger of destroying all of his
footballing reputation... "for a few dollars more". Sad, very
